Written by Jimmy van Heusen and Johnny Burke for the film BELLE OF THE YUKON (1944). Dinah Shore was the original performer. It was a hit song for both Dinah and co-star Bing Crosby. The song quickly became a jazz standard recorded by, among others, Kay Kyser, Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Chet Baker, Stan Getz, Margaret Whiting, Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearie, John Coltrane, Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Rosemary Clooney, and Björk.
